Hindalco made a major advancement in production facilities by establishing a state-of-the-art extrusion plant in Silvassa near Gujarat and Maharashtra. Silvassa is the headquarters of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli district in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. This new facility has an annual production capacity of 34,000 tonne and is India’s first fully automated plant. It ensures efficient production and high-quality output for various applications, along with value-added services.

Hindalco has also partnered with Phoenix Middle East for die manufacturing, to ensure precision and innovation in die design. The Silvassa plant caters to applications in building and construction, automotive, and consumer and industrial goods. The plant’s alloy range includes 6xxx and special alloys.

The facility has three extrusion presses of 7” (20 MN), 8” (26 MN) and 10” (40 MN), equipped with Italian technology. It features India’s first vertical powder coating line and an anodising line for 8 metre profiles. The facility has top class testing systems and procedures to ensure high quality standards. The automated plant, with an ASRS (automatic storage and retrieval system), ensures efficient production and high-quality output.
