Our facility in Mouda, located 43km from Nagpur, was established in 1994 under Pennar Aluminium Company with a strip plant and a conductor plant. Since we acquired this facility in 2006, it has transformed into a world-class foil manufacturing hub. Being centrally located, this facility enjoys the advantage of a favourable climate and is suitable for metal sourcing and supplying foil to customers across the country.
The Mouda facility is dedicated to manufacturing bare foil for pharmaceutical and food applications, which includes cigarette laminates, semi-rigid containers, and household foil. Its household foil, known in the market by its brand names, Freshwrapp, Superwrap, and Freshpakk, has become a staple across kitchens in India. The facility currently has a total production capacity of up to 39,000TPA of sheet coils, foil, and fin products.
The Mouda unit includes continuous casting, cold rolling, inter annealing, foil rolling, foil separation, foil annealing, and other operations. The unit has an energy-efficient continuous casting process that produces metal of superior hygiene. Aluminium ingots are procured from upstream units, and in-house scrap is recycled to produce continuous cast coils. These coils are rolled to thicknesses ranging from 6-50 microns for foil and 0.15-3.00mm for sheets. With the ability to process coils of density 6kg/mm in widths up to 1700mm, Mouda boasts one of the most productive cold mills.
The unit is equipped with advanced automatic thickness and flatness control systems, ensuring stringent controls over foil thickness and shape. It also boasts advanced AI tools and predictive modelling algorithms to improve productivity and promote data-driven decision-making.
