With a multicultural team spread over 50 locations around the world, diversity is not merely built into our workforce but is actively celebrated. We believe that workplace diversity not only drives more creativity and innovation but also enhances our capability to address challenges more holistically by bringing in unique perspectives. With gender diversity being a key focus area at Hindalco, we consciously practise diversity hiring at entry-level and have a range of women-friendly policies.
To increase the representation of women in our organisation, we follow a bottom-up approach to diversity hiring. Over the years, we have consistently increased the number of women graduate engineer trainees (GET) hired. Currently, over 40% of our GETs are women. We also focus on developing a strong pipeline of homegrown women managers by promoting women to senior leadership roles.
At Hindalco, we respect all employees without any discrimination based on caste, colour, religion, gender, nationality or race. We are committed to providing equal opportunities to all employees by consciously creating a gender-neutral and healthy working environment, free from bias. Harassment, whether sexual or otherwise, is also a form of discrimination. In line with our Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) policy, strict action is taken against those found guilty of harassment. We ensure that all employees are sensitised to our POSH policy at the time of induction itself. To comply with the Government of India's POSH Act, we have set up Internal Complaint Committees at all locations, dedicated to handling sexual harassment cases.
We have introduced Soaring High, a leadership programme designed especially for our women employees to help build their leadership capabilities and accelerate their career growth.
Springboard is an 18-month programme for women employees consisting of both classroom training and cross-functional business projects, aimed at enhancing their professional capabilities.
We provide a range of facilities to expecting and new mothers such as maternity leave, child adoption leave, and local commute support. Mothers at our head office can also avail of our child-care facility.
To enable new mothers to seamlessly transition from maternity leave back into their full-fledged work routine, we offer remote work, part-time work, and the option to work from any of our satellite offices.
