At Hindalco, we are firmly rooted in the core values of the Aditya Birla Group, namely Integrity, Passion, Commitment, Seamlessness and Speed. These five values are the driving forces behind our commitment to creating a supportive work environment for our employees. From career-building programmes and capability training initiatives to a robust health and safety culture and employee-friendly policies, learn more about what makes Hindalco a Great Place to WorkTM.
Learning never stops at Hindalco. We encourage our employees to learn and upskill at every opportunity through internal and external training, focused group training, e-learning, coaching, mentoring, on-the-job training, workshops and seminars.
Established in 2017, HTU has designed 43 programmes tailored to industry requirements. With speciality schools for power, smelter, mining, refinery and more, HTU enables employees to strengthen their skills in niche areas and learn from leading academic experts and research institutions.
We have designed leadership training programmes for future leaders of Hindalco so that they may build the necessary skill sets and competencies. These programmes, geared towards junior and middle managers, focus on soft skills such as team building, goal setting, time management, communication, etc.
Our Young Talent Management (YTM) team is responsible for overseeing Hindalco’s Graduate Engineering Trainees (GETs), who are hired through the Engineering Leadership Program, offered under the Aditya Birla Group Leadership Programs (ABGLP). In addition, the YTM team manages a cadre of Young Professionals across various domains such as finance, safety, sustainability, research, logistics, and legal. One of our key initiatives for both GETs and Young Professionals is Jumpstart, a three-year multi-modal training programme facilitated by our training partner Jombay. The Jumpstart programme covers diverse aspects ranging from technical mastery and business knowledge to personality development and career counselling. We believe that investing in our young talent is critical to our success and are committed to providing them with the necessary resources and support they need to thrive in their roles and become future leaders in our organisation.
In a manufacturing organisation as large as ours, technical expertise gives us a competitive edge in the market. To nurture and develop home-grown technical specialists, we offer a Technical Career Path (TCP) to interested employees with a proven track record of high performance. In contrast to a career in general management, TCP is focused on developing expertise in a particular niche. Hindalco currently has seven specialist schools consisting of subject matter experts who provide TCP incumbents with support and guidance during their career progression journey.
With a staunch Zero Harm policy in place, we have adopted a robust safety framework which covers all our employees, contractors, business associates, visitors and the community at large. To reduce work-related injuries, we identify high-risk activities at our manufacturing units and take necessary preventive measures. To ensure better safety monitoring, we have installed CCTV cameras and Video Enabled Data Analytics (VEDA). We have also installed a sustainability data management system called Enablon to monitor Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS). Besides our safety practices on site, we provide all our employees and contractual workers with mandatory safety training.
Continuous process improvement is at the heart of our innovation and technological excellence. We organise annual Kaizen competitions at our mining units to hear from our employees and involve them in improving our operational efficiency. Every year, employees across all mining units actively participate by submitting their ideas. Our Kaizen culture has led to several innovative process improvements in manufacturing and safety and has also resulted in significant savings for Hindalco.
The health and well-being of our employees are of utmost importance to us. To encourage our employees to care for their mental and physical health, we have launched several initiatives such as regular health check-up camps, nutrition seminars and mental health awareness sessions across all units. We also frequently organise fun activities like Zumba sessions, marathons and sports days to help our employees stay active and develop a team spirit.
If you’re as passionate as we are about building a greener, stronger and smarter world, we look forward to welcoming you!
