Hindalco has two extrusion plants located at Renukoot and Alupuram, both with excellent manufacturing processes and quality control systems. We acquired Hydro’s SAPA aluminium extrusions plant in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, which serves as a model for our extrusions plant in Silvassa. Our current annual production capacity is 115,000 tonne and is only expected to grow in the near future. Our commitment to innovation

Our R&D team has developed and patented a new extrusion alloy for Eternia called DuraniumTM which is proven to have superior strength and surface properties as compared to its competitors. We have also developed a second-generation version of this alloy which aims to enhance the mechanical properties even further, by 20%.

Recently, our scientists at HIC Semi-fab in Taloja have designed and assembled an aluminium e-bicycle prototype using our extrusions. This was aimed at meeting the demand for e-bicycles from the urban last-mile delivery service segment—which has been until now dependent on imports for aluminium frames.
