Meenakshi West Coal Mine is a greenfield project located in Ib Valley Coalfield in Sundargarh district of Odisha. Meenakshi West Coal Mine was allocated to Hindalco Industries Ltd. by the Ministry of Coal through the Allocation Order dated 14 December 2023, in the 7th tranche of the e-auction, under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. The coal mine is partially explored and has a geological resource of 1,188.942 MT. The mining lease area of the mine is 768.50 Ha. There are 31 split and combinations of coal seams present within the mine with an average grade of G12. Currently, the project is under various stages of statutory approval.
