Meenakshi Coal Mine is a greenfield project located in Ib Valley Coalfield of Sundargarh district in Odisha. The Ministry of Coal allocated Meenakshi Coal Mine to Hindalco Industries Ltd. through the Allocation Order dated 27 December 2024, in the 3rd tranche of the e-auction, under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. The mine has a resource of 285.24 MT with tentative peak rated capacity of 12 MTPA. The mining lease area of the mine is 486.44 Ha. Altogether, 14 split and combinations of coal seams are present within the mine with an average grade of G12. Currently, the project is under various stages of statutory approval.
