Commissioned in 2014, Aditya Aluminium is a smelter-power plant complex located in Lapanga, Sambalpur, Odisha. It manufactures the highest quality of aluminium in the Indian subcontinent, and operates at its rated capacity of 3.6 lakh tons of aluminium per year.

Aditya Aluminium caters to the primary aluminium market in India and across the globe. The ingots manufactured here are used by customers like Boeing, Mitsubishi, Gerald, Trafigura and Aleris to name a few. The unit is powered by its own 900MW coal-based thermal captive power plant (CPP). This modern, state-of- the art 360 kilo-amp smelter is based on Rio-Tinto Alcan’s (RTA) AP 36S technology. It consists of a pot line with 360 electrolytic cells, called Pots, a cast house and anode manufacturing facilities. It is also equipped with 30MW solar power plant that powers the smelter.

Aditya Aluminium has a thriving township with several amenities for its employees and their families, such as a hospital, school, gymnasium, football and cricket grounds etc. The plant is well connected with all modes of transport and is located near popular tourist attractions such as the Samaleswari Temple on the banks of the Mahanadi River, and the picturesque Gandhamardan hills.
