Mr. V. R. Shankar

Head - Chief Legal Officer

Since July, 2017, V.R. Shankar has been associated with Hindalco Industries Ltd., where he primarily focused on providing advice on strategic initiatives, M&A, litigations for and against the company, and providing critical insights with regard to mining, environment laws, labour law, etc.

He joined the Group ABMCPL in January 2016 as President, Corporate Legal Cell, supporting manufacturing- related business in the Group besides Corporate functions.

Mr. Shankar has over 30 years of professional experience and worked for 16 years with PepsiCo India. He was the Vice President & General Counsel for PepsiCo India Region. During his stint at PepsiCo, Shankar was supporting the business with a focus on marketing/sales and brand strategies, business acquisitions, franchise management, litigation, and statutory compliance, ethics and code.

Prior to PepsiCo, Mr. Shankar also worked for Maruti Udyog Ltd. (12 years) and Marico Industries Limited (2 year).

He graduated in Political Science from Delhi University and got his Bachelor of Law from Annamalai University.
