Mr. Kailash Pandey

Kailash Pandey is the Business Head for the Sambalpur Cluster of Hindalco Industries Limited.

Mr. Pandey has a career spanning 27 years in Hindalco. He joined Hindalco as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1995 at Renukoot and worked in various roles in Projects and Electrical & Instrumentation department of Fabrication and Reduction plants at Renukoot. He moved to Aditya Aluminium in 2014 as the Head of Smelter. In this capacity, he was responsible for the overall Operation and Maintenance of Aluminium Pechiney (AP) 36 technology-based smelter having an annual capacity of 360 kTPA.

In 2017, he was promoted to the role of Unit Head at Aditya Aluminium in which he got the additional responsibility of 900 MW CPP Operation and was directly accountable for all the other functions at Aditya Aluminium. Subsequently, he moved into his current role as the Head of Sambalpur Cluster in 2021 where he reports to the Managing Director and oversees the operations for three manufacturing units of Hindalco namely Hirakud Power, Hirakud Smelter, and Aditya Aluminium.

Mr. Pandey has completed his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from BIT Sindri and MBA from Universitas 21. He successfully participated in the flagship Aditya Birla Leadership Programs like Turning Point, post graduate programme in Executive Coaching from the Coaching Federation of India, the Global Leadership Program in association with the School of Inspired Leadership and Global Business Leadership Program in association with IIM Ahmedabad, focussed on International Macroeconomics.

He is also a Certified Energy Manager from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and a Certified Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineers.

Mr. Pandey has won numerous ABG Awards which include the Distinguished Leader, Values Role Model, and the Exceptional Contributor Award. He has also obtained a patent for his invention entitled ‘Process and control system for controlling smelting in aluminium smelting cells’
