Hindalco’s dedicated team of 77 doctors and 245 paramedics is working round the clock to serve employees and the community.
Supporting the Community
Covid-19 took a huge toll on the livelihoods of informal workers. In this scenario Hindalco set up the Kosala Livelihood and Social Foundation, a not- for-profit company, to mentor women in the art of making textiles including sarees from Kosa silk, thereby, reviving the ancient Kosa silk art form of Chhattisgarh.
Owing to Hindalco’s efforts, the weavers have received their first order worth Rs 8 Lakhs for producing 96 sarees. Additionally, orders were secured for more than 400 combination boxes generating employment for 20 to 25 weavers for 50-60 days which amounted to an average income of Rs21,000 per weaver. An order of Rs5 lakhs for sourcing gift items for Hindalco Women’s Conclave was also received. We were able to establish a thriving eco-system encompassing the entire value chain (cocoon farmers, reelers, weavers, ancillary activities).
A Matter of PRIDE
PRIDE (Performance Recognition in Delivering Excellence) is Hindalco’s way of celebrating creativity and is an opportunity to reward and recognize outstanding contributions during the year.
